Supporting Information Synthesis of 2b Methyl (2R)-2-amino-3-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-propionate hydrochloride salt To a stirred solution of methanol (200 ml) at 0 °C, was added the acetyl chloride (11.8 ml, 165 mmol). The solution was stirred for 15 min at 0 °C, and then D-tyrosine 3 (10.0 g, 55.2 mmol) was added portionwise to the solution.
