Pseudogap temperature T* of cuprate superconductors from the Nernst effect

We use the Nernst effect to delineate the boundary of the pseudogap phase in the temperature-doping phase diagram of cuprate superconductors. New data for the Nernst coefficient ν(T) of YBa_2Cu_3O_y (YBCO), La_1.8-xEu_0.2Sr_xCuO_4 (Eu-LSCO) and La_1.6-xNd_0.4Sr_xCuO_4 (Nd-LSCO) are presented and compared with previous data including La_2-xSr_xCuO_4 (LSCO). The temperature T_ν at which ν/T deviates from its high-temperature behaviour is found to coincide with the temperature at which the
