This paper is based on the outcomes of a survey conducted by the scholar for preparation of M.Phil dissertation during September, 2014. The major objective of the study is to examine the impact of development programmes on socio- economic life of tribals. The major thrust of the paper is to find out the impact of MGNREGA for supporting/increasing the standard of living of the tribal counterparts. It is a study of tribal dominated Gram Panchayat, i.e. Gadapadar situated at 5kms away from Jeypore Block of Koraput district of Odisha.
