Terminologische Untersuchung der Unternehmenssprache am Beispiel des Geschäftsberichtes der OMV (Deutsch - Rumänisch)
The following Master thesis researches the terminology of corporate language in an annual report. As main material for this research I used the annual report of OMV, because OMV is a successful Austrian company with an interesting development path and also because OMV has a subsidiary company in Romania. Taking into consideration my language combination I found relevant the strong connection of OMV with Romania and so I worked on a German-Romanian glossary. In the beginning of the thesis the
... ic elements of a terminology are explained. Based on these theoretical aspects the glossary was created with the following categories: definition, source and context. In order to create a background for the terms from the glossary, it was necessary to research the most important aspects of the annual report: definition, structure and functions. The annual report is part of Corporate Communications and Corporate Communications is part of Corporate Identity and because of these connections the last part of the thesis deals with the theoretical aspects of Corporate Identity and further on analyzes the Corporate Identity and Corporate Language of OMV. The results of this thesis show the important role of annual report and of langauage in creating a certain identity and image for big companies.
