We experimentally studied a functional multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber ͑EDF͒ laser at room temperature incorporating a commercial highly nonlinear fiber ͑HNLF͒ and a comb filter based on a first-order polarization mode dispersion emulator ͑PMDE͒. The tunability of the lasing wavelength, the wavelength spacing, and the number of channels were investigated. It is found that the tuning of the three parameters can be achieved by changing the setting of the first-order PMDE and varying the pumpdoi:10.1117/1.2388955 fatcat:wfseydgbxfbsli4mxlmkhi3vka
