Implants contraceptive are one of the most effective reversible modern contraceptive methods. Implants can be used by women from menarche to menopause. Many women can safely use implants including lactating mothers, HIV positive women, cigarette smokers of any age, post abortion women, diabetic women, women at risk for cardiovascular disease (including those with high blood pressure), and adolescents.
