This article presents a historical review of the development of musical education and children's choir performance in Bessarabia from the early 19th century to the 40s of the 20th century. Particular attention is given to various forms of musical and aesthetic education of children, as well as to choirs and renowned choral conductors, whose work has played a huge role in the establishment of choral art in the Republic in general and children's choral singing in particular.
