The first part of the paper describes the targets related to the design of an Active Roll Control (ARC) system, based on the hydraulic actuation of the anti-roll bars of an automobile. Then the basic static and dynamic design principles of the system are commented in detail. The second part of the paper presents the Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test bench implemented to evaluate the designed system.
