The purpose of the present study was to evaluate whether iontophoresis (IP) accelerates the intradermal migration rate of medium molecular weight drugs. Sodium polystyrene sulfonate (PSA) and fluorescein isothiocyanate-dextran (FD) were used as model medium molecular weight acidic and non-electrolyte drugs, respectively.
