The author used Palestinian art to create a "public sphere" for cross-cultural contact in a distance-learning class. ... ogue with other participants. The viewer finds information outside the "intimate sphere" in which the work of art was created and explanation of the work's meaning depicted. As a result, not only informational exchange but also empathic and emotional exchange between the viewer and the work is achieved, which can be considered a space for a certain kind of dialogue. In this paper, the author used works of art as a space for cross-cultural contact to deepen the understanding of others. The theory of distance learning using works of art as a place to visually reveal the "other", visualize it as a non-convergent polyvoice, and form a "dialogue" with it, is explored.
