Impact of vancomycin MIC creep on patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia
2012
Journal of Microbiology, Immunology and Infection
Journal of Microbiology, Immunology and Infection (2012) 45, 214e220 Conclusion: We identified a significant upward trend in the use of vancomycin and its MIC over the last decade. This study shows that patients infected with MRSA isolates with high MICs (!1.5 mg/mL) do not have a significantly higher mortality rate compared with isolates with low MICs (<1.5 mg/mL).
