Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disorder characterised by polyclonal Bcell activation, production of dsDNA-autoantibodies and cytokines. Subsets of Bcells play a central role in SLE-pathogenesis. The inflammatory milieu is characterised by the accumulation of adenosine, which confers immunosuppressive effects.
