Acute stent malfunction in a fibrocalcific lesion

Stent fracture is an emerging complication of coronary angioplasty as a result of the complex interplay between stent design, the stented segment, stent over-expansion, a long stent and tortuous and complex lesions including chronic totally occluded vessels and calcified lesions.
