Few current research works devoted to specific features of the political detective as well as the uncertainty and blur of the very concept of this genre prove the necessity to study this new kind of detective, its characteristic features and principles, in particular the basic principle of credibility which is based on documentation in general and implemented either by the documentary method of describing events or the author's general knowledge and outlook.
