This paper presents a scalp electroencephalogram (EEG) seizure detection scheme based on singular spectrum analysis (SSA) and Rissanen minimum description length (MDL) model-order selection (SSA-MDL). Preprocessing of the signals allows for the drastic reduction of the number of false alarms.
