COVID-19 and burnout in healthcare personnel: A review of the literature

Healthcare personnel have been providing care to individuals affected by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for well over a year. They have been faced with numerous challenges during this time. Burnout was a problem for healthcare providers even prior to the pandemic, but the increased challenges of the pandemic are likely to raise the burnout rates in this population.
