Synopsis The Building Standard Law of Japan and its Enforcement Order were revised in June 2000. The main point of this revision is that the contents of provisions changed into performance code from specification code. At the same time, the notifications defined by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT) were improved, and the new notification (Notification No. 1446) was also added. Owing to this revision of these Law, Order and Notifications, it became impossible to use the
