The Effects of Leadership Behavior on Efficacy: A Comparative Study of Faculty of Two Universities from Iran and India

The present study examined the effects of leadership behavior on faculty efficacy of Department of Humanities in University of Mysore (India) and University of Shiraz (Iran). The data were collected from amongst the faculty of the two selected universities including 174, of whom 93 were from India and 81 from Iran. ... een the department heads' leadership behavior and their faculty efficacy and that the heads' leadership behavior and faculty efficacy of the related departments of the two universities would not be significantly different. The results, approving the first assumption, revealed that there was a significant relationship between leadership behavior and faculty efficacy. Moreover, it was found out that the department heads' leadership behavior and faculty efficacy of the Department of Humanities of the two universities were consequentially distinct.
