Based on the theory of etymology, together with relative documents and historical facts, this paper analyzes the etymon of two terms: qonaq and kmmiqonaq, which refer to"corn"in Modern Uyghur language. The word meaning enhancement and weakening of qonaq, and the forming of the word kmmiqonaq, reflect objective reality at that time and people's subjective perceptions of objective things have the profound influence on language, and also provide some important agricultural information to us.
