BRICK WALL STRENGTHENED WITH EPOXY RESIN INJECTION METHOD

When strengthening historic unreinforced masonry structures, it is important to preserve their appearance. Considering that mortar joints are the weakest part of a brick wall, we proposed a new repair technique using the injection of epoxy resin into these joints. The proposed method is to inject low viscous epoxy resin into the mortar using a very low pressure. This paper presents the results of the fundamental loading tests with brick elements and brick walls. Based on the test results, the
