The effect of corrosion inhibition on mild steel in 3.5% sodium chloride (NaCl) solution was investigated using eco-friendly new corrosion inhibitor namely Pithecollobium dulce extract (PCD). A significant decrease in the corrosion rate of MS was observed in the presence of inhibitor. Electrochemical corrosion studies showed that the inhibition efficiencies increased with increasing inhibitor concentration. more » ... accord with Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The UV-Vis spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis were carried out to characterize the surface film.
