Dexoyribonucleic acid (DNA) has recently been identified as a promising material for nanotechnology due to its unique mechanical, electrical, and optical properties. However, optical applications are severely hampered by the featureless response of neutral DNA at visible frequencies. Additionally, predictive simulations are computationally too demanding to cope with large DNA strands.
