ABSTRACT: This work aims to carry out a reading on the work by the paulistano writer Antonio Vicente Seraphim Pietroforte, as well as of the relations between his literature and a certain tradition of Western erotic literature, which passes through Sade, Sacher-Masoch and Pauline Réage. The reading of masochistic sexual behaviors can be observed in works prior to the ones of these writers. It is after Sacher-Masoch, though, that the perceiving eye will see certain connections between the concept of sexual masochism linked to behavioral ethics of one's life.
