In carotid endarterectomy (CEA), plaque progress evaluation of the internal carotid artery to the distal portion is important. We determined the duration of the dissection of the internal carotid artery to the distal portion by measuring the length of the plaques that developed in the distal portion from carotid bifurcation by preoperatively performing magnetic resonance imaging and three-dimensional computed tomographic angiography.
