The article focuses on reconstruction of the historical framework of book collections' formation process in the library of Chisinau Theological Seminary, the first educational institution in governmental Bessarabia, founded by Metropolitan Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni in 1813. The first library of the Seminary consisted of two sections: "Фундаментальная" (Fundamental, or Basal) and "Учебная" (For Studies).
