Analysis of Environmental Characteristics in Coastal Area of Bangladesh

Environmental features of the coastal areas of Bangladesh is more diversified than other parts of the country. Bangladesh has about 710 km coastal belt having continental shelf up to 50 meter depth and the nature of coastal environment is always dynamic. Millions of people live in the coastal areas depending on the coastal resources. more » ... mental characteristics of the study area has been found as geomorphic features, drainage quality, soil textures, flood level, salinity level etc. To find out this information, South Shonaichhari Mouza under Shonaichhari Union in Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong District has been selected as study area. For collection of environmental features information plot to plot survey and questionnaire based interview has been done and acquired data has been analyzed with the help of Arc GIS 10 software and SPSS etc. Abstract
