PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF GLASSES IN THE GeSe 2-PbSe-PbTe SYSTEM

Chalcogenide glasses from the GeSe 2-PbSe-PbTe system were synthesized. Microhardness, HV; density, d and the glass transition temperature, T g were measured. Some thermomechanical characteristics, such as volume, V h and formation energy, E h of micro-voids in the glassy network, as well as the module of elasticity, E were calculated. The mean values of the overall bond energy, ; coordination number, ; bond energy of the average cross-linking/atom, E c and that of the "remaining matrix", E rm
more » ... ere determined. The average heteropolar bond energy, E hb and the degree of "cross-linking/atom", P p were also calculated. A correlation between the composition and properties of the GeSe 2-PbSe-PbTe glasses was established and comprehensively discussed.
