Alias name extraction is the process of extracting surnames for the known name in the web. Alias names are useful in a wide range of processes like information retrieval, opinion mining and terrorist activities detection and so on. ... analysis etc. In this scenario, it is essential to compare these techniques and review its performances. In this work, different alias name extraction and validation techniques are compared. Experiments were conducted on Name alias data set. Experimental Results show that the feature based alias extraction technique that uses ranking SVM outclasses other alias extraction techniques.
