... ing (LB) mechanism. LB is the process of redistributing the work load within the web servers or among the web server clusters. LB can be done for both homogeneous and heterogeneous systems. While doing LB in heterogeneous systems, there are various issues and challenges that come across. Thus there is a fundamental need to examine these issues. In this paper, we have examined various issues likes scalability, congestion handling, fault tolerance, performance and scheduling of cluster of web servers.
