This study investigated the effectiveness of new development self-etching adhesive on the shear bond strength of one layer, two layer and three layer applications to dentine. 45 extracted human molar teeth were subjected by wet grinding with 360-grit silicon carbide paper and then exposed dentine surfaces were prepared with three different application methods by Adper Prompt L-Pop (APP). One layer application (Control): APP were applied for 15 seconds on the specimens and gently air dried for 3
more » ... seconds and polymerized with halogen light for 10 seconds (n=15). Two layer application: The specimens were prepared as a duplicate of the one layer application (n=15). Three layer application: The specimens were prepared as triple of the one layer application (n=15). Composite (Z250) cylinders (4 mm diameter, 2 mm high) were polymerized with 40 seconds on the self-etching treated all dentin surfaces. The specimens were stored at 37°C for 24 h prior to testing. Cemented specimens were subjected to shear loading (0.5 mm/min) until fracture using a universal testing machine (Llyod). Statistical analysis was done with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan test. Two layer application had significantly higher bond strengths (10.6 ± 2.1 MPa) on dentine (P<0.05). There was no statistical significant difference between one layer (7.8 ± 1.1 MPa) and three layer (7.9 ± 0.8 MPa) application. The results of this in vitro study showed that two layer application of APP were improved bond strength to dentine
