The structural system with the rotational foundation can control the response of the super structure easily and has splendid merits in the viewpoint of the cost efficiency and the planning of super structure, etc. The purpose of this study is to present the response evaluation method for the buildings with the rotational foundation system due to uplift and subsidence at pile heads. In the study, first, an influence of drawing out and subsiding of piles on an earthquake response is examined.
more » ... se is examined. After that, the calculation formula of equivalent damping ratio taking account of the rotational foundation due to uplift and subsidence at pile heads is induced. Lastly, the response evaluation method using the ultimate strength and equivalent damping ratio is proposed. This method is simple and show excellent agreement with time history analysis.
