Green tea polyphenols (GrTP) have been previously shown to decrease endotoxin-induced tumor necrosis factor-␣ production and lethality in mice. Our present studies demonstrate that GrTP inhibit inflammatory responses and may be useful in treating chronic inflammatory states, such as inflammatory bowel disease.
