During arqueometallurgic surveys carried out in the last years in the High Guadalquivir, and specifically in the Rumblar river, important remains of extractive mining and ancient metallurgy such as rafas, galleries, and "slags" have been documented. These remains have been associated to the exploitation of copper minerals and "galena argentifera".
