The effect of pantothenic acid deficiency on acetylation in rats

Lipmann et al. have shown (1) that coenzyme A1 contains large amounts of pantothenic acid. Since this coenzyme has been shown to be essential for in V&O acetylations of sulfanilamide (3, 4) and choline (5), it seems significant to determine whether acetylation in animals depends upon an adequate intake of pantothenic acid.
