An Analysis of Cultural Differences in Chinese and English First-person Deixis from the Perspective of Pragmatic Empathy

The first-person deixis, as an essential component of pragmatics, may indicate the social status, interpersonal relationship and other factors of the conversational parties, thus reflecting the implicit cultural in a particular society. Therefore, the different uses in first-person deixis of different languages may imply the cultural differences among different societies.
