Abstract This paper is a brief dialogue with the form in which the metaphor is conceived in philosophy, as outlined by Aldo Rovatti and Max Black, stripping his aesthetic standpoint. While these authors present it as a platform for access to knowledge, it is interesting how they converge either viewpoint. Since each discipline has focused on a perspective, it is necessary to open the discussion to ask how the involvement of the pathos of the reader changes the process of acquiring knowledge from the metaphor.
