Decline of the Ottoman Empire has used its last sta ge when World War I until the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey on October 29, 1923. Political and social changes have marked the country into two camps: supporters of the Sultanate and the nationalists led by Mustafa Kemal. Lasting conflict, both the Greeks and the Franco-British nationalists have gained ground and tilted the scales in their favor to end dynasty succeeded Osman.
