This paper describes a Petri net-based methodology that has been developed for the performance analysis of Real-Time Systems (RTS). A Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS), which is a case of a real-time system, has been used as a vehicle for our discussion. We use here Deterministic and Stochastic methods for modelling and analysing the performance of this Real-Time systems.
