This paper proposes an approach to cognitive modelingmicro-theory-in incident analysis. In this approach, cognitive modeling is viewed as a process of a series of abstraction from raw data, which are observable (such as physical activities and verbal communications), to statements with increasingly rich descriptions of cognitive activities in modular components of cues, decision situations, and choice processes.
