BACKGROUND Primary percutaneous coronary intervention is one of the treatment options for STelevation myocardial infarction and is relatively safer and superior to thrombolytic therapy. The decrease in time to reperfusion leads to decreased infarct size and hence incidence of major adverse cardiac events (MACE).
