The spectrally sensitizing abilities of both thiatricarbocyanine and phenosafranine were increased by the increase of silver ion concentration in emulsions. However, the degree of the increase of the spectrally sensitizing ability of thiatricarbocyanine was much larger than that of phenosafranine.
