2 In this paper, we will consider nonseparable 2-D filter bases working with separable sampling patterns. Wavelets working on nonseparable decimators and expandors (e.g., Quincunx, Kovacevic's wavelets [21] , etc.) require control units and input schemes that will be studied in the future.
