I want to acknowledge how honored I am to have read and listened to the former enslaved sharing their vulnerability through recalling their stories. Their words revealed the horrors and realities of slavery when so many believed their inhumane treatment was justifiable. I hope all who endured slavery's brutality are now happily soaring high above the clouds.
