The reconstruction of St Maurice in Olomouc was one of the most important building projects in late medieval Moravia. Research assumes that the work began in 1415 and continued, with several interruptions, into the late 15th century. Especially the ambitious and, for this region, unusual designs share far-reaching artistic connections with important centers such as Wrocław, Brno and Vienna. Therefore, this paper proposes that the project's exceptional value is imbedded in Central Europe's architectural history.
