Nowadays, Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) are adopting new technologies even before they are recognized educationally making them compulsory technological parts of the educational system. The Human brain performs complex image processing functions, whereas the eye functions similar to a digital camera. Computer Vision (CV) applications in Higher Education will date back to the 1980s. So, Computer Vision when coupled with IoT technology in a Higher Education can give rise to smart, intelligent campuses improving student experiences and positively enhancing educational perceptions. In this review paper, the literature works related to what/how different styles, principles, and technologies that are not only related to IoT and Computer Vision technology but also any new technological research works that can be possibly adopted into Higher Educational Environment will be discussed, thus exploring its future with building automated intelligence in HEIs.
