Gearbox modelling is an important topic to the simulation community due to its difficulty in representing mixed continuous and discrete behaviour. Such kind of models also usually couple the loss of power that is dependent on the angular velocity and the load. However, one single gearbox model with a certain fidelity cannot satisfy the broader needs of modelling during product development.
