A digital foreground calibration method for SAR ADCs with redundancy

This paper presents a digital foreground calibration method 7 intended for Successive Approximation (SAR) Analog-to-Digital 8 Converters (ADCs). It begins by investigating the Integral Non-9 linearity (INL) and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) degradation with 1 % 10 capacitor mismatches. Measurement 16 results of the 15 column SAR ADCs indicate that the INL and the SNR 17 can be improved by 1 LSB and 2 dB, respectively, using the proposed 18 calibration method.
