Catherine Keohane teaches writing and literature at Montclair State University. A specialist in eighteenthcentury literature and culture, she has published articles on Frances Burney, Sarah Scott, and Ann Yearsley as well as on the seventeenth-century poet Aemilia Lanyer. Her current book project examines eighteenthcentury depictions of charity in didactic and imaginative literature to explore the implications of form for promoting and challenging gender and class ideology.
