This research aimed to measure the impact of adopting 'Active Learning Based Program' in teaching programming on the academic achievement of Grade 3 intermediate Students, Jeddah, KSA. To achieve this, the researcher followed a quasi-experimental research method. The research sample was a randomly picked up of )40( students and they were divided into 2 groups; experimental and controlled. The researchers designed an academic achievement test of 4 levels of Bloom's Taxonomy to fulfill the

The research findings indicated statistically significant differences (0.05≥a) between the average scores of the experimental group students and the control group in the post academic achievement test on knowledge levels )application, analysis and synthesis( in favor of the experimental group. The findings also indicated (a: 0.05) between the mean of the empirical group and the control group in the cognitive achievement of knowledge dimension (application, analysis, synthesis). Overall, the findings were found to support the effectiveness of the 'Active Learning Based Program'. The study concludes with recommendations including the utilization of active learning based programs addressed in this study in teaching computer science, especially in programming lessons.
