The present study was to investigate the relationship between the caries activity test (Cariostat(R)) at 1 year-6 months of age (caries free) and the caries status at 3 years, 6 years of age in 557 children. Furthermore, to investigate the relationship between the combination of Cariostat score at 1 year-6 months of age and 3 years of age with caries status at 6 years of age. 1) The Cariostat score at 1 year-6 months of age correlated significantly with the mean df-tooth at age of 3 and 6 years

On the other hand, the high-high risk group showed highest mean df-tooth at 6 years of age. It is suggested that when at 1 year-6 months and 3 years of age the Cariostat scores were combined, a higher correlation was shown with the carious status at 6 years of age.
